Treat Vrbo as its own integration
Do not copy assumptions from an Airbnb setup. Ask the provider which Vrbo connection is supported for your account and what prerequisites apply. Identify the property and listing precisely before allowing changes. A label such as channel manager describes a product category; it does not prove identical field coverage or onboarding requirements across every booking marketplace.
Follow a reservation and its money
Ask where the reservation originates, where changes should be made and who handles guest payment questions. Keep the payment arrangement separate from the calendar connection. Do not assume that seeing a booking in one system proves a payment has settled. Request a fictional walkthrough if the responsibilities are unclear; do not create a charge merely to fill a knowledge gap.
Record the existing commitments
Preserve the current upcoming reservations, blocked periods and relevant settings before following the supported transition. Assign one person to verify property mapping and another to review if your operation permits. The aim is to reduce ambiguity, not to suggest an undocumented two-person requirement or a vendor feature that has not been verified. Lodgify’s current Vrbo FAQ says existing reservations and closed periods are not imported through this connection and must be recreated in Lodgify. Confirm the supported handling with the provider before cutover; do not assume a successful connection recovered your historical commitments.
Verify before broadening distribution
Check representative known dates and the guest-facing information that your provider says should update. If an unexplained difference appears, pause further changes and use the supported recovery route. Avoid blindly re-creating listings or repeatedly reconnecting accounts. We have not run this integration in a live host account, so this is a preparation checklist rather than a tested click-by-click tutorial.
