Quick review verdict: start from the guest’s question
Use a fictional trip with dates, party size and a specific property. Check whether the route clearly identifies the accommodation and explains unavailable dates. A guest should not need to remember which of several similar units they selected. Verify that important property facts remain accessible before checkout rather than being hidden behind a sales-oriented booking button.
Inspect the full amount
Compare the displayed breakdown with the intended quote, including mandatory charges and the payment schedule. Do not infer the final total from a nightly headline. Ask the provider to explain a discrepancy rather than editing a live rule experimentally. This is a clarity check, not legal or tax advice and not a guarantee that a payment processor will approve a transaction.
Exercise safe failure cases
Without submitting a charge, inspect missing fields, unavailable dates and the route back to the property page. Check on a narrow phone-sized screen and with a keyboard where possible. A visible error should explain what needs correction without erasing useful work unnecessarily. Do not use invented card details to force a live payment response.
Keep a human fallback
Make sure a guest can find an appropriate question route if the booking interface cannot resolve their situation. Assign someone to maintain that contact information. A completed visual review is not evidence of payment settlement, channel synchronization or legal compliance. Verify those separate responsibilities through the supported provider process before relying on the system for real guests.
Review limits and a narrow-screen test
W3C’s reflow guidance explains why ordinary content should remain usable when the viewport narrows to 320 CSS pixels, subject to defined exceptions. Inspect the property summary, fee explanation and error text at a narrow width. This is one useful check, not a complete accessibility audit or certification. Keep the actual observed result separate from any vendor statement about mobile friendliness.
